Laura Chaffin has been married for 21 years, is a mom to 3 boys, and is an Assistant Principal for Alvin ISD. Her life has included serving in orphanages in Mexico, engaging in street evangelism in Ethiopia, and building homes in South Africa. After almost a decade into their marriage, she and her husband spent almost 2 years in Jinja, Uganda, as International Directors of a Baby Cottage while adopting their 3 boys. Laura has faced difficult times, such as enduring a brain injury in Uganda, and is now walking through the grief of her 8-year-old son's passing from a very rare genetic disorder. Through all of these mountains and valleys, Laura remains a strong believer in the power of opening your Bible.
Laura earned a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a focus in Genetic Research from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. She also holds a Master’s in Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston. Drawing from both her academic background and her experience in education, Laura has developed a deep appreciation for the transformative power of engaging with God’s Word through daily Bible reading, handwritten Scripture, and consistent prayer.
She is passionate about encouraging women in their faith journeys and helping them discover the power, relevance, and practicality of being in God’s Word in every season of life.
